Itinerary
Day 1: Semera to Erta Ale
What’s Included On This Day
Early drive from Semera to Dodom, which is the base of Erta Ale.
After some rest and dinner we will trek up to Erta Ale and take in the incredible views of the lava (3-4 hour trek). Erta Ale has the only permanent lava lake in the world.
Camp overnight on top of the mountain.
Meals Included On This Day
Day 2: Erta Ale to Hamedella
What’s Included On This Day
We will hike back to the camp early in the morning and drive to Hamedella.
We will visit Lake Asale and see the camel caravans carrying their salts to different parts of the country.
We will camp overnight in Hamedella.
Meals Included On This Day
Day 3: Hamadella to Dallol then Mekelle
What’s Included On This Day
Early at sunrise we will drive to Dallol to visit the Danakil Depression. We will visit the salt mining, salt spring pools and the colorful sulfuric hot springs.
After touring we will drive back to Semera to end our Tour.
